Der Fotograf Chris Jordan hat auf seiner Webseite das Projekt “Running the Numbers” veröffentlicht: Die amerikanische Umwelt- und Konsumkultur, ausgedrückt durch einfache Statistiken, wird von Jordan dabei fotografisch interpretiert.


Depicts 2.3 million prison uniforms, equal to the number of Americans in prison in 2005. Of all the countries in the world, the US has the both the largest prison population, and the largest percentage of its population in jail.


Depicting 106,000 aluminum cans, equal to the number of cans consumed in the US every thirty seconds.


Jordan hatte vor ein paar Jahren seinen Beruf als Anwalt aufgegeben, um sich ganz der Kunst widmen zu können. Er lebt und arbeitet in seiner Heimatstadt Seattle. 2007 stellt Jordan zum Beispiel im Armory Center for the Arts, Pasadena, Kalifornien, aus (Juni bis einschl. 30 September).
